William Henry Norris, 81, husband of Ruth Anne Wilson Norris of 319 Belton Dr., died Thursday, April 5, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Knoxville, TN, he was the son of the late Andrew Orlando and Dora Snipes Norris. He graduated from Belton High School in 1954 and then Lander University where he earned his Business Degree. He worked for Piedmont Natural Gas for 41 years and was District Superintendent of Operations in Winston Salem for 15 years. He served in the US Army for 3 years and the National Guard for 33 years. He was a member of the Lions Club in NC and SC, member of FCA, served on the Anderson District 2 School Board and a volunteer fireman with the Belton Fire Department from 1959-1980. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. He was also an avid runner for many years.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: sons, Andrew Norris (Simone Wilson) of Pendleton and Mark Norris of Belton; daughter, Anita Norris (Jimmy Duncan) of Belton; brother, Fred Norris (Alice Jean) of Belton; beloved aunt, Sara Sharpe, 100 years old of Belton and many other loving family members.

Service will be held 2pm Sunday at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Daryle Hawthorne officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service Sunday at the church.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Lions Club or a charity of one’s choice.

The family will be at the residence.
