Gerald Ray Batcher, 85, widower of Peggy Wilson Bratcher, of Belton died at AnMed Medical Center Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Walter Oliver and Maggie McKee Bratcher. He was the owner and operator of Gerald’s of Due West which was one of the largest square dance outfitters in the southeast. Some of his hobbies were square dancing, gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his family. He was a lifelong member of Bethany Baptist Church where he served as deacon and served in other positions.
Surviving are: Daughter, Wendy Bratcher Campbell of Honea Path; Grandchildren, Matthew B Campbell, Andrew K Campbell, and Kelly B Campbell; Sister, Hilda B. Lindley of Belton.
He was predeceased by his son in law Bryan K Campbell; brothers, Walter Bratcher Jr, Charles Bratcher, and Ralph Bratcher; sisters Louise Baker, Doris Baker, Betty Gibbs and Frances Aiken.
Services will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, March 3 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Edmonds and Rev. DeWayne Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 Sunday before the service.
Memorials can be made to Bethany Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will be at the daughters home 103 Blue Barker Rd Honea Path.
