Elise (Gurley) Haynie

Elise Gurley Haynie, 91, widow of Ralph Edward Haynie formerly of 110 Davenport St., died Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Belton, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Eva Brayon Gurley. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Surviving are: daughters, Gwen Bratton (Tommy) of Spartanburg, and Charlene Scott (Dwayne) of Anderson; grandchildren, Tommy Bratton, Jr. (Laura), Alison Lawson (Mike), Corey Scott (Kelli), and Jason Scott (Jenna); 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Haynie; sisters, Essie Holcombe, Ina Fisher, Sadie Hicks, Lois Ashley, Willie Brock, and Viloa Gurley; and brother, Harold Gurley.

Service will be held 11am Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mitch Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memoires.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 10am until 10:45am at Cox Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church of Belton or Rainey Hospice House.

The family will be at the home of Dwayne and Charlene Scott.
