Jerome Evans, 70, of Belton, SC gained eternal peace at his home on June 4, 2018.
He was the husband of the late Lona Hiott Evans who he adored and greatly missed since her passing on April 4, 2016. He was the youngest son of the late Robert Boyd and Genevieve Clinkscales Evans. An army veteran, avid carpenter, and jack-of-all trades, he retired from the maintenance staff at Belton-Honea Path High School in 2009. A man of utmost integrity, his dry sense of humor, thoughtful and caring heart, and generous nature were always helping those around him: family, friend, or stranger.
He is survived by two daughters, Amanda McGinnis and husband, Micheal and Jenni Creamer and husband, David; three grandchildren, Tyler McGinnis (Zoe), Allison Todd (Chris), and Makenze McGinnis (Blake); five great grandchildren, Kaydence and Lillie Todd, Ellie Yeargin and twin boys due in October; two brothers, Theron (Patsy) Evans and Jackie (Bonnie) Evans, and one sister, Faye Evans.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Troy, Lloyd, Frank and Pete Evans.
Funeral service will be held 3 pm Wednesday at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Carroll Plemmons and Rev. Tim Edmonds officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Cox Funeral Home.

The family extends sincere gratitude to Renee Miller for the care and support she provided during his final months and to Ashley, Casey, Betty and all of the staff of Open Arms Hospice for their compassionate care.
