Thomas Henry Whitten, Jr.
Thomas Henry Whitten, Jr., 49, of 417 Stansell Dr., died Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Charleston, SC.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of Thomas Henry Whitten, Sr. and Diane Foster Whitten both of Belton. Tom earned his Bachelor degree, was employed as an FAA Investigator and a member of Dorchester Baptist Church. He also had been chief pilot and instructor with Anderson County Sheriff Department, former Vice President at Cox Funeral Home and a pilot and instructor with MedTrans.
Surviving in addition to his parents are: brother, Greg Whitten and fiancé, Amanda Lovell of Belton; sister, Bonnie Barton of Belton; nephews, Trey Snell and Trace Barton both of Belton; nieces Julia Cooper (Rev. Josh) of Williamston, Jessica Wightman (Brian), Jordan and Presley Whitten all of Belton; great nephews, Oliver Wightman and Finley Cooper.
Graveside service will be held 3pm Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6pm until 8pm at Cox Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Special Olympics of Anderson.
The family will be at their respective homes.
