Betty J Madden, 86, widow of the late James Leon Madden, resident of Mize Rd., died Saturday August 21, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 10, 1934 in Anderson County to the late Bailey and Mattie Woodson Knight, she was a graduate of Williamston High School. She retired from Milliken Williamston Plant after many years of service.
Betty was a simple woman that loved to dance.
She was a faithful member of Dorchester Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Denese Madden ( David Wurm) of Delaware, OH, and James Bailey Madden of Belton; her sisters, Frances Trotter, Jean Stroud, and Margaret Stroud; her grandchildren, Ashley Nicole “Nikki” Smith (Joey Bryant), and Bradley Kyle Madden; her step grandson, John Wurm (Samantha); her great grandchildren, Austin Kyle, Dylan Blaze, Harley, Olivia, and Mila. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Louise Stroud.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 4:00 PM from Dorchester Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at Cox Funeral Home.
