Betty Joyce (Brown) Reese

Betty Joyce Brown Reese, 77, wife of Joseph “Ed” Edward Reese, resident of Griffin Rd., died Thursday August 19, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 22, 1944 in Anderson County to the late Leon and Mary Magaha Brown, she was a graduate Broadway School and attended beauty school, she was a hairdresser for many years.

She was a member of Cross Hill Church of God, and loved working in her yard.

Surviving other than her husband of 35 years, of the home, are her sons, Steve Gunnells of Belton, Joseph Edward Reese, Jr. (Jonny) of Anderson, and Jonathon Edward Reese (Chrissy) of Iva; her daughter, Jane Nicole Reese of Columbia; her sisters, Mildred Todd and Judy Davis (Bobby); her brother, Donnie Brown; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Francis Fields, Lucille Johnson, and Polly Brock, her brothers, Daniel Brown and Bobbie Brown.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30PM from the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 PM at Cox Funeral Home.
