Betty Baldwin Stallings, 92, widow of the late James Russell Stallings, resident of Edgewood
Dr., entered into rest Wednesday January 24, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving
Born on July 12, 1931 in Greenville to the late Clemson and Bertha Gossett Baldwin, She was a
graduate of Ellen Woodside High School and a retired sales associate for CVS.
A member of Eastview Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School for many years, and was a
member of the Senior Citizens Group. She served as the President of the Belton Senior Action
Group for 17 years.
She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Affectionally known as
“Momma Betty”, Betty never met a stranger, she was known to tell everyone she encountered
that she loved them and more importantly Jesus loved them.
Surviving is a son, Russell Lynn Stallings of Belton; her sister, Jackie Davis of Mauldin; her
grandchildren, Russell Thomson and girlfriend Jody Long of Naples FL, Jeremy Stallings and
wife Stevi of Greenwood, Heather Lord and husband Neal of NC; her great grandchildren,
William Thomson, Caroline Thomson, Anne Thomson, Jackson Stallings, Sawyer Stallings,
Cooper Lord, Hannah Lord, Elizabeth Lord, and Lindy Lord; several special nieces and
nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy S. Thomson, an infant son, James Edward
Stallings, brothers, Don Baldwin, James Hubert Baldwin and Carl E Baldwin.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 PM from the Eastview Baptist Church with
Rev. Kaleb Lamb, Rev. Kurt Mitchell, and Kelly Jo Barnwell officiating. Interment will follow at
the Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:30 PM until the hour of
service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Robin Vaughn, Greg Baldwin, Emanuel Landers, Jacob McCall, Ryan
McCall, Ronnie Hunt, Trey Bowman, and Tony Baldwin. Honorary Escort will be the ladies of
the Belton Senior Action Group.
