Douglas “Doug” McArthur Fisher, 80, widower of the late Sheran Gurley Fisher, resident of Edgewood Dr., entered into rest Sunday May 29, 2022 at his residence.
Born on March 25, 1942 in Greenville County to the late Clyde Sr., and Ida Jordan Fisher, he was a retired textile worker.
He enjoyed fishing, and watching airplanes, he never met a stranger, he had many “adopted” children.
Surviving are his nieces, Dana Hanks and husband Brent of Belton, Kim Ambrose and husband Jack of Anderson, and Sherry McCullough and husband Kenny of Anderson; his nephews, Billy Fisher and wife Diane, and Robbie Fisher and wife Molly, all of Honea Path, Dan Gurley of Belton; numerous great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, William, Haynie and Richard Fisher, and a sister Violet Fisher.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 PM from the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories.
The family is at the home of Dana and Brent Hanks and will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Ambrose, Tyler Ambrose, Brent Hanks, Justin Freeman, Bryson Lollis and Billy Fisher.
