Emalin Burckhalter Campbell, 77, wife of Major Jay Campbell, resident of Croxton Road, entered into rest Tuesday May 30, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 22, 1945 in Aiken, SC to the late Ken and Miriam Burckhalter Seigler, she was a graduate of Leavelle McCampbell High School, Winthrop College and obtained her Masters from Leslie University. She taught Math and Computer Technology at Wren High School in Piedmont. She was active in Meals on Wheels.
She was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church where she served as a Deacon. She formally taught Sunday School at Siloam Baptist Church.
Surviving other than her husband of 50 years, of the home, are her sons, Matthew Jay Campbell of Williamston, and Joshua Jay Campbell and wife Tara of Rock Hill; her grandchildren, Adison, Dylan, Mac, and James Campbell.
A celebration of life service will be conducted 10 am Friday June 2nd from Boulevard Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Austin Carty and Rev. Jack Couch officiating. A private Inurnment will take place at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Emalin’s name be made to the Building Fund at Boulevard Baptist Church, 700 Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
