George “Alfred” Bannister, 95, widower of the late Nettie Jane Bannister, formerly of Belton, entered into rest Sunday March 12, 2023 at NHC-Anderson.
Born on June 24, 1927 in Belton to the late George Roy and Dessie Keaton Bannister, he was retired from Wells Aluminum. He enjoyed baseball and western movies.
He was a member of Eastview Baptist Church.
Surviving are his brother, Dean Bannister and wife Wendell of Belton; His sister in law, Misako Bannister of Belton; his nieces Dawn Cothran and husband Danny of Belton, Lisa Shaw and husband Keith of Belton, Debbie Whitworth and husband Bobby of Anderson; special great nieces and nephews, Kayla Hanks, Blake Shaw, and Katelyn Moss. He was predeceased by a brother, Leon Bannister.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM from the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Randy Blank officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Dean and Wendell Bannister.
