Belton
Grace Hullett Callaham, 82, widow of the late Pickens Rufus Callaham, resident of Calhoun Rd., died Friday February 19,2021 at the home of her daughter.
Born in Clover South Carolina to the late Marshall “Monk” and Lillie Mae Stewart Hullett, she was a graduate of Belton High School and Forrest Junior College. She was retired from Michelin.
Grace was a pillar of the Belton community, volunteering at BIMA, Belton Area Museum, Generations Group Home, and Shalom Home Ministries. She always visited shut-ins right up to the time she became a shut-in herself. She was a substitute teacher at B-HP, a Boy Scout Den Mother, and a former Red Hatter.
A faithful member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, she served on several committees, was a member of the WMU, and faithfully attended WMU meetings at the Saluda Baptist Association as well as serving as the Women’s Softball Coach for Shady Grove.
Surviving are her children, Cindi G. Callaham ( Paul Sinnott) of Columbia, Cheryl Perez (Jaime) and Cathi Smith (Scott) all of Belton; her grandchildren, Terri Callaham, Kayla Billingsly, Chloe Smith, Brandi Strickland (George), and Rufus “Rudy” Martin; 11 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Philip Callaham, and a great grandchild, Deron Carrithers.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM from Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. George Strickland and Rev. Mike Moody officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at the church.
