Hassie Kelly Vaughn, 96, widow of the late John H. "Speedy" Vaughn, former resident of Belton, died Thursday June 17, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 23, 1924, in Anderson County to the late Robert Lee and Jessie Mae Lloyd Kelly, she graduated from Anderson Girls High School and retired from Blair Mills as an Inspector.
She was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church and served on the Home Team Visiting Team for many years.
Surviving are her son, James H Vaughn and wife Carolyn of Liberty, her stepdaughter, Pat French of Belton, her daughter in law, Libby Gilstrap of Belton; her grandchildren, Henry Vaughn, Sandy Crompton, and Dawn Vaughn; 5 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Allen Vaughn, 2 brothers, Roy Kelly and J.D. Kelly, 1 grandchild, and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM from Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Krieger and Rev. Dr. Ron Culbertson officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:oo to 8:oo PM at Cox Funeral Home.
