James Homer Booth, 85, widower of Sara Gambrell Booth of Due West Hwy died Friday, July 31, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Iva, he was the son of the late Calvin Thurman and Ida Welborn Booth. Raised 4-20-1957, and also is a Past Master, 63 years of service of Centre Lodge 37, Honea Path. Served in the US Army Reserve from 5-4-1955 till 8-28-1963. He was the owner and operator of Gemini Style Shop in Belton, SC from 1974 until 2013. He also served as an Anderson county Sheriff Dept. Reserve Officer.
Surviving are son, James “Freddy” Booth (Penny) of Belton; daughter, Teresa Dooley (Frank) of Belton; brother, Edward Booth; sister, Omega Green; grandchildren, James N. Booth and Savannah S. Lynch; 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Calvin Booth; sisters, Mildred Bryant, Katherine Anderson, and Hazel Booth.
Graveside service will be held 2pm Monday at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Frank Dooley officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6pm until 8pm at Cox Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Hospice of the Upstate @ 1835 Rogers Rd. Anderson, SC 29621.
The family will be at the home of Teresa Dooley, 1351 Mt. Bethel School Rd. Belton.
