Belton
James Deven Gurley, 29, resident of Edgewood Drive, died Thursday May 20, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born April 8, 1992 in Anderson County to Brent and Dana Gurley Hanks, he attended Anderson County Schools and obtained his GED. He worked in maintenance for MFG Car Parts. He was a Georgia Bulldog fan, loved kayaking and his reptiles.
He was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving other than his parents of Belton, are his sister, Donna Hanks of Belton; his brothers, Justin Freeman (Kaley) and Adam Simmons, all of Belton; his maternal grandfather, James E. Gurley, Jr; special nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Deborah Gurley and a special aunt, Sheran Fisher.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM from the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Robison officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 until the hour of service at the funeral home.
