James “Marvin” Heller, 85, widower of the late Linda Stewart Heller, resident of Park Road, entered into rest Thursday October 19, 2023 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born on October 6, 1938 in Anderson to the late James R. and Aileen Lollis Heller, he was a truck driver for 50 years, retiring from G&P Trucking without ever having an accident. He won numerous safety awards, Truck Driver of the Year, and 2 National Competitions. He was kind to everyone he met.
He was a member of Dorchester Baptist Church, as well as a lifetime member of Hamilton Lodge #403 A.F.M.
Surviving is his companion of 20 years, Joan Turner of Taylors; his daughter, Crystal Dryden and her husband Joseph of TX; his brother, David Heller and wife Connie of Belton; his grandchildren, Meredith Covington and husband Chad, Morgan McCoy and husband Oren, Madison Dryden, all of TX; his great grandchildren, Amelia McCoy, Monty Covington, Opal Covington, and Nomi McCoy; his beloved nephew, Chris Pullian of Belton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Helen Heller.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 PM from the Garden of Memories with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home.
