James Henry Vaughn Sr., 80, Husband of Carolyn Mitchell Vaughn of 7701 Liberty Hwy, died August 20, 2023 at his residence.
Born in Anderson County, he is the son of the late John Humphrey “Speedy” and Hassie Mae Kelly Vaughn. He loved racing, classic cars and was a member of Neals Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home. Son James H. Vaughn Jr. (Wendy)of Starr; his daughter, Sandy V. Crompton of Belton; and sister, Patricia French (Bill) of Belton. 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Allen Vaughn; grandparents Charlie and Lou Lollis Vaughn, Robert Lee and Jessie May Lloyd Kelly, and a granddaughter Kacey Madison Vaughn.
Services will be held 11am Wednesday August 23, 2023, at Neal Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Dorriety officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 22, 2023 from 6 to 8pm at Cox Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Neals Creek Baptist Church.
The family will be at the home.
Cox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
