Belton
Jan Milton Holliday, 85, husband of Evelyn Godfrey Holliday, resident of Spring Dr., died Sunday December 26, 2021 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born on August 23, 1936 in Anderson County to the late Joe Milton and Lucy Shirley Holliday. After graduating from Belton High School, he received his BA from the University of South Carolina. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1954 until 1962, and retired from Blake-Holliday Insurance after 40 years of service.
He was a faithful member of First Baptist Belton where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the Marshall Bible Class. He was also a member of the Belton Lions Club and served as a Trustee on the Board of Anderson School District 2 for 29 years.
Surviving other than his wife of 61 years, of the home, are his children, Jon Holliday and wife Jan of Belton, and Jana Jackson and husband Kelly of Sumter; his grandchildren, Alex Holliday (Courtney), Cecil Kelly Jackson, Jr. (Katelyn), Mary Kathryn Holliday, and Caroline Jackson. He was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Jameson.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 AM from the Belton City Cemetery with Rev. Mike Moody officiating.
