Malcolm Dean Bratcher, 79, husband of Charlotte Davis Bratcher, resident of Hunter Drive, died Thursday February 3, 2022, at his residence.
Born on July 9, 1942, in Anderson County to the late Harold Lee and Martha Banister Bratcher, he was a graduate of Honea Path High School, and was retired from Clinkscales Chevrolet where he was the Parts Manager for over 40 years.
He enjoyed refinishing and restoring old clocks and was a proud member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors.
He was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church where he proudly served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and taught the Adult Mens II Sunday School Class for over 50 years.
His grandson remembers “riding around in the front seat of your old pickup truck going to Mens Bible Study when we visited and being the youngest guy in the room by about 50 years!”
His granddaughter stated “ The greatest comfort in my grandfather passing today is knowing he is dancing with the Lord. There isn’t a man that loved God and his family more”.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, of the home, his daughter, Teresa Bratcher Jurow and husband Christopher of York; his grandchildren, Ian Alexander Jurow and fiancé Shelbie Yarborough, and Savannah Kathryn Jurow and David Clark; his great grandchild Kayden Clark; his sister, Harolyn Gleason and husband Rufus; his brother, Michael Wilson Bratcher.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM from Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Edmonds and Rev. Carroll Plemmons. A private burial will be at a later time.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday Evening from 6 to 8 PM at Cox Funeral Home.
Due to Covid 19, masks and social distancing is required.
