Mary Loretta (Brooks) Hofmeister

Mary Loretta Brooks Hofmeister, 77, widow of Dale N. Hofmeister, Sr. of 23 Smythe St. died Saturday, July 31, 2021 at her residence.

Born in Brevard, NC, she was the daughter of the late J.C. and Hester Marcus Brooks. She was of Baptist faith and a hairdresser.

Surviving are: sons, Dale Hofmeister of West Palm Beach, FL, J.C. Hofmeister and wife Missy of Williamston, and Erick Hofmeister and wife Cindy of Starr; brothers, Jimmy Brooks and wife Barbara, and Carnell Brooks; sister, Joyce Lusk and husband David; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren; special niece, Jennifer MacArthur.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Tawnya Anderson and Joyce Hofmeister.

Graveside service will be held 11am Tuesday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Phil Keown officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm Monday at Cox Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation @ www.kidney.org/donation.

The family will be at their respective homes.
