Obituary
Maxine Brown Ratley, 88, of Belton, passed away on May 28, 2023 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born on August 6, 1934, in Dillon, SC, she moved to Belton in 1969 and loved it from her arrival. She enjoyed being around people, spent most of her career working with the public and retired from SCN Bank. She was an active member of Second Baptist Church and cherished her faith.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Don Oates of Atlanta, GA, Kristin Chambers (Lyn) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Chris Locklear of Anderson, SC, Sonya Garren of Anderson, SC; her great-grandchildren; and her sister, Blondell Carter, of Dillon, SC.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Mickey Oates, her daughter, Vicki Abrams, her grandson, Jody Brock, and her siblings, Pauline Hamilton and Buddy Ratley.
A graveside service will be held at Belton Cemetery on Thursday, June 1st at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dwight Greene and Dr. Mitch Brooks officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
