Raymond “Ray” Eugene Stewart, 89, passed away Friday October 9, 2020 at Palace Gardens Assisted Living Retirement Community in Homestead FL.
Born March 18, 1931 in Belton to the late Elbern “Ebb” and Mamie Kelly Stewart, he served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He met and married Neva Sanders from Miami FL. He retired from Otis Elevator Company and moved to Inverness, FL. He always came back to celebrate Thanksgiving at the Cabins at Oconee State Park watching his nieces and nephews grow through the years.
Surviving are his son Walter Raymond Stewart and wife Muriel of Miami; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; his sisters, Peggy Stewart Pullian and husband Walter “Shorty” of Belton, and Georgia Mace of Dalton GA; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert “Bobby” Stewart and Larry Leon Stewart. A sister Linda Stewart Heller.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 3:00 PM from Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Michael Allen officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at Cox Funeral Home.
