Sara Ann Burkett Burgess, 80, loving wife of Charley Calvin Burgess Sr., resident of Hwy. 247, entered into rest Tuesday October 3, 2023 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born on October 3, 1943 in Aiken to the late Robert and Doris Kneece Burkett, she worked in textiles and retired from Torrington Company.
She attended Belton Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving other than her loving husband of 56 years, of the home, are her children, Daren Franklin Gilbert (Lisa), Charley Calvin Burgess, Jr. (Marion) all of Belton, Polly Burgess Yates (Jason) of Honea Path; her sister, Margie Perdue (Halvey) of Beech Island, SC; her grandchildren, Courtney Ashley (Steven), Haley Hawkins (Austin), Sean Gilbert, James Burgess, Hannah Phillips (Brandon), Matthew Burgess, Will Yates, Lauren Yates, Shea Yates (Kiarra), Erica Yates (John), Jody Titus, Jessica Haas, and T.J. Burgess; 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Tony Burgess, her brothers, Harold, Bobby, and James Burkett, her sister, Ellen Wells.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:00 PM from the Belton Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Randy Goff and Pastor Martin Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Cox Funeral Home.
The family is at the home of Polly and Jason Yates.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
