William Clarence Hawkins

William “Bill” Clarence Hawkins, 93, widower of the late Marie P. Hawkins, died Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Condor Health in Anderson.

Born December 12, 1926 in Anderson to the late Prue F. and Lula Shaw Hawkins, Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked in the textile industry for many years, retiring from Mt. Vernon Mills.  For many years, Bill and Marie operated a Café in Belton.

Bill was a member of Belton Church of God.

Surviving are two sons: William R. “Rick” Hawkins of Little Mountain; and, Kim E. Hawkins (Antoinette) of Lexington; grandchildren: Mary Helen Hawkins, Stuart Hawkins, Kristen Hilbish (Austin), and Joshua Hawkins; and great granddaughter Starr Hawkins. He is also survived by his brother Alfred Hawkins and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Marie and their daughter Rose Marie, he is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Marchel J. Hawkins (Rick) and three brothers, Doug Hawkins, Marshall Hawkins, and Alvin Hawkins.

 Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Belton Church of God with Rev. Norman Black officiating. Interment will follow at the family plot at the Garden of Memories.
