Willie Ruth Kay Burgess, 83, widow of the late Lawrence Ray Burgess, formerly of Hand Dr., Belton, died Tuesday June 8, 2021 at NHC-Anderson. 

Born on June 22, 1937 in Belton to the late William Aaron, Sr. and Edna Pauline Davis Kay, she was a graduate of Belton High School. She retired from BASF as a Lab Technician after 20 years of service. 

She attended Whitefield Baptist Church and was a member of the Todd Creamer Sunday School Class. 

Surviving are her sisters, Mary Helen Kay Hiott and Frances Azalee Kay Kinard, both of Williamston; her brother, William Aaron Kay, Jr. and wife Ann of Antreville; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM from the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Clardy officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories. 

The family is at the home of Azalee Kinard and will receive friends Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home. 

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Caris Hospice and NHC whom treated Willie like family.
