Belton
Wilton Cooley, 86, widower of the late Emma Sue Sanders Cooley, resident of West Chapman Road, entered into rest Sunday January 1, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born on September 19, 1936 in Greenville County to the late Nicodemus E. and Lela Phillips Cooley, he was retired from the South Carolina National Guard and Torrington Company.
He was a member of Belton Pentecostal Holiness Church, and Hamilton Lodge #403 A.F.M.
Surviving are his children, Kevin Cooley and wife Karen, Denise C. Hamby and husband Derek, and Jeff Cooley, all of Belton; his sister, Virginia King; his grandchildren, Chrissy Rutledge and husband Paul, Christopher Cooley, Ta’sha Fuller, Jessica Cooley, Brandon Cooley, and Amber Acuff; 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Neil Patrick Cooley, a grandson, Jeffrey Todd Cooley, 5 sisters and 7 brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3:00 PM from the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Kay and Rev. Eric Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
