James Calvin Jennings, 73, husband of Deborah “Marcelle” Jennings, resident of Bannister St., died Thursday January 14, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Center. 

Born June 24, 1947 in Anderson County to the late Clyde W. and Gladys Ables Jennings and retired as a Custodian for Anderson County School District Two. He was a part time Funeral Associate at Cox Funeral Home for many years. 

He was a faithful member of Belton Church of God, where he served as Custodian for over 40 years, as well as an Usher and Trustee. He also faithfully served on the Pastor’s Council. 

Calvin never met a stranger, his love for his Lord and Savior, his family and his work associates shown through each and every day of his life. 

Surviving other than his wife of 28 years, of the home are his children, James “Rickey” Jennings (Kristi) and Keith Randall Jennings ( Pam McGee), all of Belton; his step children, Jason Rentz (Danielle) of Honea Path, and Erin Rentz of Belton; his brother, Danny Jennings of Belton; his sisters, Margie Lollis of Honea Path, Ann Mason and Linda Bell, both of Belton; his grandchildren, Haylee Mauldin, Sydney and Whitney Jennings, Jace, Sarah, Micah, Andrew and Savannah Rentz; his great granddaughter, Heartlee Mauldin. He was predeceased by his brothers, Billy Jennings and Sam Jennings, his sister, Bobbi Crawford, and 2 grandchildren, Brandon Jennings, and Colt Jennings. 

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM from Belton Church of God with Rev. Norman Black and Rev. Brian Jennings officiating. Burial will be Monday at 2:00 PM at the Garden of Memories. 

Due to COVID-19, masks are required, and social distancing must be observed. 

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at the church.
